Asleep At The Wheel

So tired,,, it's been a long few days. Not that I'm trying to trump Pam's 1st post (please read about Nick below if you haven't) but oh man do I have some good news. Just learned that a Tandem bike has been donated to be given away as a prize for one of our upcoming events. Not just any tandem, a NattyLight Tandem! I'll post pictures soon as it gets here. Is it unethical to win your own raffle? I want it so bad I can taste it!
In other exciting news,,, The kits came. We even got to break them out for last night's race. They were a big hit. I think they will be a great aid in helping to get people attention / raise awareness. Did I get any pictures? of course not, I'm an idiot. I even had friends in town. Who doesn't bring a camera when your college buddies show up to race in your hometown series? Me.

Last night's race turned out to be a great event. I was about 2 minutes from loading the bikes back on the car and opening a beer when the rain stopped and the sun came out. With a slight delay we ended up with some nice, tacky race conditions. My buddies from KY got to experience the Wednesday Night Worlds first hand. I told y'all these CO dudes were fast. We had a pretty good night. Pam raced single speed again, an achievement in itself. I know I was happier riding plush suspension and using plenty of gears. I got my second victory of the season too. Surprising after the Sunday I had.

Sunday's 25 mile Firecracker preride turned into a 37 mile epic, single speed, bonk-fest. Got lost a few times, climbed up the wrong, crazy steep, death march, above tree line, gulch. "Sure honey we'll be home by 1." Whoops.

I don't think I'll be getting out of the doghouse soon. Last night I took "celebrating the win" a little too deep and wound up napping in the yard at around 2:30 A.M. Proud of me yet? It gets better. A neighbor even sent the cops to our door with reports of a suspicious character lurking around. Then after dirt jumping all this afternoon I thought it would be a good idea to buy another bike. 'Cause that's totally what I need.

Awesome Pump Track Podium Amigos!
