Man what a great day. Started out with some mid-morning dirt jump / pump track maintenance action, (Yeah my wife rides a DJ too. Jealous?) Followed that up with one of our favorite rides on the Single Speeds. Then we headed into town for some mingling, exotic appetizers, and to enjoy the free concert. Not working has it's perks.
While that was all great, by far, the best part of the day was realizing just how much momentum Team FD is gaining. While this whole 'Summer Project' thing started as our own personal fund raising drive, that's taken a back seat to getting people into the idea of becoming a part of Team FD themselves. Nothing spreads the word faster than new people getting on board and spreading the message through their sphere of influence. I was especially stoked when a riding buddy stepped up to the plate today and committed himself to raising $2000. Wow.
After reading that it kinda sounds like I'm about to try and sell you on an 'Exciting ground-level opportunity in the lucrative world of direct marketing'. Scary. I promise Team FD is in no way a pyramid scheme of any kind. Nor will Team FD try and sell you any snake oil ointments, animal-cruelty free cosmetic sunscreen, fabulous home furnishings at a fraction of their retail value, phone service, or cure-all juice.
