Going Nowhere, Fast!

This weekend Pam and I took the opportunity to participate in fat Cyclists 2nd annual 100 Miles to Nowhere. A rather creative fundraiser that brings the charity ride to your home. Originally designed to be ridden indoors on a trainer. (really going nowhere)we bent the rules a little and took it outside. Joined by some friends we made a short course around the neighborhood. We threw a couple of detours in to fight boredom, run a couple errands, and "refuel".

After 8.5 hour (6 in the rain) I have a very dirty bike, some sore bits, and some very confused neighbors.

Oh boy, 100 miles around the neighborhood. In the rain.

Start, Line up, Pam almost bought Ricky Schroder's bed at a Garage sale (Mile 1)

Flanders?, Short Break, Mile 33 reward and refuel.

"I don't think the heavy stuff is coming down for a while", Going nowhere fast.

100 K celebration, Big Mark Brings mile 85 motivator, Done!

Huge thanks to Ryan for joining us. Plus the biggest thanks in the world to Frank. As our "Domestique" Frank rode about 120 miles in the rain keeping our spirits high, our bottles full, and our cameras flashing.

Check out the "official" map made by Ryan's Garmin GPS. Hit Play to see how the day really went.

I'm not sure why we thought it would be such a great idea to take this thing outside. Next year I'll be stationed in front of the TV on my rollers, nice and dry, speeding my way to a 4 hour finish.

Thanks to Fat Cyclist, a huge inspiration to us as we begin this adventure in fundraising of our own.
